We decided to take advantage of an uninhabited Manhattan today (being Memorial Day weekend) and visited two great art exhibits. The first was the Ryoji Ikeda installation at the immense Park Avenue Armory. This space is so huge but the Ikeda exhibit managed to fill it. The combination of video and sound was futuristic and energizing. See the video below to get an idea of the sensory overload we experienced. The next stop was the Cory Arcangel exhibit at the Whitney. The highlight of the exhibit was a series of hacked bowling video games, from 8 bit to present, where every bowl resulted in the ball ending up in the gutter.
