Warp Out!

Pierce and I messed around with the Mac's Photo Booth application to create this (and many other) silly pix. Click on the image below to see the whole album.

Wallace Public School Field Day

An absolutely beautiful day for the annual Wallace Public School Field Day at JFK field in Hoboken. Deirdre and I volunteered for the day. We filled up hundreds of water balloons and helped oversee some of the games. I got a little carried away playing "photo-journalist" with our new camera. A Fabulous Memorial Day

The first day it really felt like summer this season. We all scurried up to the East side to catch the Cai Guo-Qiang exhibit at the Guggenheim before it closed later this week. Wow! I'm certainly glad we didn't miss it. It was great. Unfortunately photography isn't permitted in the Guggenheim but the artist's website has a good overview of his work. Sculptures, gun powder, fireworks, and packs of wolves all combined to make for a stimulating visit. Pierce especially liked the wolf pack.

After emerging from the museum into a warm sunny day we decided to walk back down 5th Ave to visit the critters at the Central Park Zoo. We arrived just in time to see the last public feeding of the sea lions. (click to enlarge photos)

BossyBoots Design New Assistant

He needs to work on his latte skills but his knock-knock jokes, Pokemon trivia and science facts are first rate! He's definitely a candidate for retention and possible promotion in the near future. (Click photo to enlarge)

The Power of One

Pierce oversaw the creation of this montage inspired by the Pokemon movie "The Power of One". Pierce created the Lugia model from Lego and placed his Ash and Pikachu models on its back. We photographed it against a screen and then placed the cut-out image on a cloud background using Gimp. Then Pierce drew the sea and islands foreground using Gimp and our graphics tablet. Then we added pictures of Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos and Slowking. Finally, Pierce drew the battle effects with Gimp and the tablet. (click on the image to enlarge)
